some is the H-section, further north toward Bicycle path it becomes the W-section. There are other decent pockets of Coram. IMO the only area that should be out of the question is the area near the interesction of RT 25 & Rt 122 & just east of there to about Sweezy Road. That whole section is too close to Gordon Heights it overflows.

Howe rd is west of 83 (good area),harford is east(still a good area). You probably just want to avoid anything in Coram south of middle country road totally or if you are north of middle country if it close to homestead drive.

scotty_in_va is on a distinguished road
Default from woodbridge

I grew up on Woodbridge Lane from 1982 until I went into the military in 1989, and then came back to visit for a few years. I went to Newfield, in Middle Country School District. So did everyone else south of Whitfield on Wedgewood, and south of Wellsley past the midpoint. I had paper routes and friends all over the W section back then, and most of us were MCSD #11.

And while nice in places, run down in others, it was still hard to put a finger on how crime and drug free the place was. Burnouts and the wasted came out of seemingly good looking homes, equal with the bad - a lot of dual income families back then, and suburban malaise. The Pine Road shopping center was a dump needing help (sounds like it got it) and they were building new homes in the woods around pine back in '89.

While it was the nicest place my parents ever decided to raise us in, it was far from ideal. All of the schools were rough, or had issues. While the 6th Precinct cops usually ended up in the W section only if they were lost, Coram was only one step up from Selden/Centereach on any scale.

What cracks me up is the home we lived in was old when we bought it. We had to repair and replace everything inside and out. I have to wonder what issues those homes have today.
