Default My favorite Long Island neighborhoods

These are generally places where there hasn't been much change. Many neighborhoods got taken over by the rich while others became ghettos.
But some neighborhoods haven't changed much and still feel the way they did 20 years ago.
It's my taste to like open space, and generally being near it is important. The Lake Panamoka section in Ridge is one of those places. Cozy little houses and Brookhaven State Park is right in your backyard. Another great place is Northampton, which is by Wildwood Lake just south of Riverhead. Sarnoff, Cranberry, and Manorville Hills preserves are right by these areas
And in the Hamptons I like the Northwest woods area around Northwest road and Swamp road. Hamptons Bays has a nice backwoods area around Red Creek Drive which is by Red Creek and Hubbard preserves. Still I prefer Lake Panamoka because the Hamptons people, even in the woods, can be a bit pretentious.

Nice pictures. The funny thing is most of the photos look like the areas about a mile or so west of my house here in VA. It's like LI but with more heat, less snow, no beach, and just adequate pizza and bagels.

I always liked the neighborhood on the West side of Argyle Lake in Babylon.

Clark Street was nice too.
