AOC and all the Dems were at Al Sharpton's conference yesterday. CNN reported she did not mention her Amazon victory but encouraged all the Democratic candidates to pledge to support reparations. Seems an odd tactic (the Al Sharpton coziness and the reparations pledge) to win an election. Although CNN seemed to think it was pretty cool.

They should sue the British, the Spanish, and the Dutch. There are also some African nations that could be brought into the suit. British banks and insurers too.

I didn't hear about this one. Maybe they'll invite Bernie Madoff or "El Chapo" Guzman for the sake of more diversity?
Is this still about Amazon? The facts on the ground is that they are still hiring for corporate jobs in NYC. The facts on the ground are that they still have not announced any corporate jobs in LI. LI’s largest issue is figuring out how to fix that for Amazon or any other large well-paying tech company.

Are you ok? Why on earth would a business move to a location with high property taxes AND high income taxes? On top of that, LI does not have a good transportation system.
No buses, and trains run only parallel and are slow as balls. They are much better off to go to literally any where else in USA that is guaranteed to be at least twice as good due to taxes alone.
Wait for all of the long islanders who couldn't make it in life to start bashing me, but that is why they are here in the first place. They got crap jobs, divorced family, and kids can't work anywhere else but fishing stores and malls.
No mater how bad it gets here, we're still numero uno and have a number of ways to change the direction the country is heading in; no way we're becoming another Venezuela or Cuba. Thank God for the framers for giving us a number of ways to change the direction the gov'e is going in.

The facts on the ground are that Amazon is leasing 11,000 square feet in the Chrysler building in Manhattan. People will be working there. And without the city and state bribing Amazon to do what they'd do anyway.
