either Nassau or Suffolk County Executive is on the phone non stop pleading for these jobs.

How short-sighted are these numskulls in LIC 25,000 jobs.

Look what happened when Grumman, Hazeltine, Fairchild, etc folded up their tents.

Restaurants and secondary services were impacted greatly

I hope AOC and the idiot council members in NYC are happy. They just cost the area thousands of jobs and billions in investment. This state is hopeless.

Call me crazy, The entire states economy is based off of finance sector. As it slowly migrates to other parts of the country since the trading can be done any where. How will the state replace the revenue? Amazon was part of the answer. NO CHANCE they go to LI.

Amazon will add 5000 jobs in Nashville and has no plans for a second HQ2 site.

This hurts LI greatly and may the drain continue...

Without the financial sector NY would be Philly.

LI'ers would never allow this in their backyard.
Dead issue.
Now lets get that Disney World built already.
I say they build it in Garden City or Manhassett or maybe Jericho.

No they aren't. They are ditching plans for a second HQ. Only doing VA and the Nashville distribution center now.

Unbelieveable.

Talk about cutting off one's nose to spite their face, shooting oneself in the foot, etc etc etc.

Where was all the supposed "local opposition" while Amazon was mulling over and narrowing down its choices? I don't recall hearing about any protests being organized against it during that phase.

This is the equivalent of someone dropping hints and nagging for months to be invited to a birthday party and then when they get the invitation saying they're not going to attend because they don't like the person enough to buy them any kind of a gift, LOL. So they end up sitting home that afternoon and missing out on all the fun, games, and awesome birthday cake. Same kind of "logic".

Financial sector is moving/moved their operations to Salt Lake City, UT. (SLC)
Whereas back end operations had previously moved to NJ.

SLC - Low wages
