Good to know; would you mind coming back and reporting on how that job went? Quality, timeliness, and whether they charged you more for the work than was originally quoted.

Not happy at all. Quoted 1 week and it ended up being 4 weeks for a lousy 15 straps on three lounges. they couldn't even match up the white colored straps. Mine were more off white and they put bright white on. When I complained about it they said they can re do them but they were "too busy man".

Didn't fee like waiting another month, so I just sucked it up. Wouldn't ever go back.

Had similar wear and tear issues with my aluminum patio table.
I sanded down the spots were the paint had flaked off with gentle sandpaper and spray painted the table with Rust-Oleum semi gloss white (paint and primer in one can).

Looks fine, cost a few $ and about an hour of my time.

This is an update in case anyone else is looking for the same kind of service.

I contacted Action Powdercoating a couple of weeks ago via email and sent them photos (with measurements) of the bench. Received an email today saying it would cost "about $200" but that I would need to get it sandblasted elsewhere first.

This despite Action's web site saying that they do:

http://www.actionpowdercoat.com/sand...g-long-island/

So that complicates matters because it would be enough of a challenge to arrange with someone who has a large enough vehicle, and time available, to get the bench to and from ONE place ... let alone two (one for sandblasting and another for powder coating) at two different times.

Depending on the estimate that I get from a sandblasting place, I may just have that done and then try painting the bench myself. I was hoping that it would not cost more than $250 total but obviously that's not going to be the case.

Something like this natural stone (granite) bench is starting to look better and better to me. Zero maintenance. Set it and forget it, forever after. The former owners left a small granite-topped bench in another part of the backyard and I really like it. It's similar to this but in a smaller size:

These guys are on Cape Cod but I would think there must be some place here on LI that is similar? (maybe on the East End?)
