Has anyone (or know someone) who has rented their house in Malverne NY? Was the process simple? Would it easy to find tenants in that area?

Be careful here ...you can kiss up to 500k in excluded gains good bye if you blow the primary residence exclusion by renting to long assuming that is what you are doing...

Plenty of potential tenants out there. Difficulty is qualifying, especially with the new law that our Gov signed into law in June of this year.

Just a few examples: Not more than one month security; no checking if tenant was previously evicted, etc.
And the State has testers out there... fines are substantial if you say/ask the wrong thing!

Been there. Tenants can be as dumb as a block of wood when it comes to everything else in life.
When it comes to their rights they're all Johnny Cochran.
