Thank you very much...I guess we all can, pretty much, discount ANYTHING you have to contribute, if that is your attitude.

well, who is this "we" you're referring to? As for you wanting to understand my opinion regarding this topic, I don't think I was making that complex a point. I felt that Crookshaven was making broad and incorrent generalizations about the similarties between Queens and Nassau. That's it. Would you do better with pictures? Or maybe words with less syllables?

No..not so much.
I believe as a life long LI resident , I'm very familiar with Nassau county.
I've been both a resident of Queens and Ive worked in Hicksville for years.
We just disagree on this one SeanSean y SIB
IMHO quite a bit of Nassau is looking pretty urban these days.I never said it was bad, but it aint Babyboom Levittown either.
It kind of reminds me of Queens when I was a kid.
The years havent been kind to Suffolk either. Shes lost most of her open space. The traffic in Centereach is wrose than Hempstead Tpke these days. Development is a sad inevitability.
LI is a victim of its own success.

Look, "we" are not going to beg you, to be more clear, of the points you make.
So go your own...special way, and we will not expect, anything more than broad statements from you, that you are not able, to substantiate, when "someone" asks you.

I grew up in Hicksville, 1953 til 1973, moved (from 164th St in Jamaica) into a brand new house that my folks paid $12,000 at 23 Terrell Lane, just across the street from Holy Family Church. I've never been back and I can't imagine what the area is like now. There was still a little bit of farmland nearby - behind the church and also where Country Ct is now. There were a couple of old horses pastured there still and we kids sometimes hop the fence and ride them bareback.

Roslyn Harbor is not too Queenish (The Frick Estate is even still there w/ another name , but it's still the Frick Estate to me ). Lattingtown, Cove Neck , Center Island, Cold Spring Harbor, Sea Cliff, Locust Valley , Muttontown; these have not really changed all that much from when I lived there almost fifty years ago.
