Hello everyone,

I am new to this website and I am hoping to get some interesting and start forward responses.

I'm looking forward to moving to long island but I have gotten mixed reviews about nassau and suffolk county. I work in NYC and would like to have assessibility to a nearby train station, I also have children and I'm torn between the school districts.

Any suggestions on what locations in nassau and suffolk are good for a first time home buyer (good area), as well as good school districts?

Price range, length of commute, school preferences, etc. Those would all help to answer your questions, but I think the best suggestion would be to simply search the threads as pretty much every town and school district on long island has been either cheered or vilified on these boards . Should be a ton of info already out there for your review. Good luck!

Research the Huntington area. It's about an hour on the LIRR to Penn station and the area is diverse with all different price ranges.
