Default Moving from Brooklyn to Roosevelt,NY (need help)

Im interested in moving to Roosevelt, NY fom Brooklyn, NY.Which is a big change since Ive been living in Brooklyn for over 15 years.I also have a teenage daughter who is in private school and I would like to enroll her into a public school with a great district. I would also like to know about transportation. I work in the city (Times Square) so I would like to know how long would it take me to get to the city . Is the neighborhood a great neighborhood to raise a teenager in?Ive been doing research but I would still love more info on this town. I would really appreciate it if I could get some help. Thank You.

Are you talking about Roosevelt Long Island?

I think it's pretty bad unless it made some remarkable progress in a few years.

Much better than Roosevelt. Roosevelt's school district is so bad it had to be taken over by the state. Due to having little business, the property taxes are high. The are is economically depressed. Not worth the move.

Roosevelt is one of Long Islands worst communities. Gang violence and crime run rampant in Roosevelt, North Freeport, Uniondale and Hempstead. You are better off in Brooklyn. The Roosevelt schools, as fopt65 mentioned, are the worst in NY period. The state took them over because everything went wrong.

Default Stay away from Roosevelt

I lived there for 3 years and speaking as a girl who grew up in the Bronx, I did not feel safe there. There are the suburbs and then there are the ghetto suburbs.
Don't let the trees and houses fool you.
