East Northport snobs in Commack schools?
I was talking to a friend who lives in the part of East Northport that goes to Elwood. She said that when she and her husband were looking they checked out homes in the part of East Northport that goes to Commack. And then she said she got the impression that there were some stuck-up people there who thought their &#$^ didn't stink. She said she was so grateful that they settled on the Elwood section and felt she would have been miserable being in the Commack district and that her kids would have suffered there.
Any thoughts?

Is there a reason you are asking this? I don't think the Commack SD is THAT affluent for this to be true, at all.

I think your friend is making a lot of ASSUMPTIONS on intangibles that she cannot judge since she did not choose to move to the other school district. She cannot KNOW what kind of outcome it would have had. It sounds like she is just trying to reassure herself that she chose the right school district to the detriment of the other one.

I agree. I owned a home in Commack and it was a great area and the schools were very good as well. You can find "snobs" in every town in every state.

This reminds me of the Star Trek episode with the race of beings where some were black on the left side and white on the right side, while the others were white on the left side and black on the right side.

I've heard that Commack SD offers courses in Snobbery 101 and Snootiness 102 as part of its AP (Ass Pirate) program. They are both well received, especially by those living in E. Northport.
Of course, Commack Cinema is also showing "The Snobs in the 'Mack: A Boyz in the Hood for the Suburbs" which is supposed to be quite a hit.
Damnit, who scratched my Rolls...off to the Commack auditorium for the "Showing Off to the Jones'" adult learning course.
