No they don't "cough to death in uniform" (as you so stupidly put it) but that is irrelevant. You don't like it? Call your congressman to have the law repealed. LOL Good luck with that.

I'm sorry that's ridiculous, big difference of an Officer going to stop a suspect getting shot and killed than a covid death. Covid should not be used to get enhanced benefits, especially when we have a vaccine that basically eliminates the chance of death from covid. If officer was vaccinated and died of covid maybe you can make the case. Unvaxxed and death, the family should just get the standard death benefit.

I don't want to hear about a exemption, there is no religious reason to not be vaccinated and 99.9999% if the population doesn't have a legit medical reason.

You can think it's ridiculous or not its the law, passed with easy bipartisan support so its not going anywhere.

If this is the case then it needs to be for everyone!! Anyone who lost their life due to Covid while they were forced to feed their families! So all those Tyson factory workers that died should get the same benefits! How can they discriminate by profession.

Because grocery store clerks and Tyson food workers aren’t civil service and don’t get death benefits or pensions in the first place so there are no survivor benefits to even give. It’s a false comparison.

I'm curious if this benefit applies to teachers.

No. It’s for first responders only. It’s literally called the safeguarding first responders act.

Because those places don't fetishize and idol worship their chicken workers (who may very well be unionized) the way we brown nose cops and teachers around here.
