Spent a night at the Tally Ho diner listening to Mandy and Weekend in New England after breaking up with a girlfriend. There's nothing else like that Manilow schmaltz during those times.

Actually, any concert that I have been to at JB was enjoyable. It is just an awesome venue.

The worst concert on LI I was ever at was The Clash at Hofstra around 1985. The accoustics were terrible... It was a standing only crowd that was too hot & crowded. It had rained all day and the place was full of mud, too. Yuck.
I remember that show at Hofstra, it was in the gym correct?
I left right after "London Calling" It was my last punk concert.

I've been to more concerts than I can count, but the top 3 were Rolling Stones @ Rich Stadium 1982, The Who @ Shea 1982 and Ted Nugent in Clifton Park, NY 2007. Concerts I wish I saw and never have....Paul McCartney and Led Zeppelin.

LocalX... yeah, in the slushy gym. Don't blame you for leaving.

Mike C, I was at The Who concert at Shea & thought it was awesome!! And I would give just about anything to see Led Zep before they lost John Bonham. I don't live too far from the new Hard Rock Park and am hoping that LZ comes around to play there... especially since the main attraction is the Whole Lotta Love roller coaster.

Gigi, I wouldn't mind a Nine Inch Nails concert. They still rock.

I've been to way too many concerts on LI....but my favorite would have to be Peter Gabriel at Jones Beach.

Last summer I saw the Stray Cats/Pretenders/ZZ Top show at the beach and I have to say, the Stray Cats were tops that night. I've seen ZZ Top in the early and mid 80's -- they're getting older and the energy isn't there anymore. The Pretenders? I think Chrissie Hynde was tipsy or a little stoned. She can sing, but her comments between songs were a bit 'out there'.

U2 is my favorite band; I've seen them 2x at the Coliseum and 1x at SUNY Albany (same tour I believe ClarkStreetKid saw them on in '83) I would have loved to have seen them at Malibu!

Nine Inch Nails are amazing live. Saw them at Woodstock '94.

Candlebox was playing onstage on Saturday night with a HUGE mud mosh pit right in front of the stage. When Candlebox's set finished, a few guys climbed out of the mud pit, onto the stage, walked past the security guards without a thought and grabbed the intstruments. One of them grabbed the mic and started singing... it was Trent Reznor. NIN put on a great set.

They were followed by Metallica and Aerosmith (as it was raining).

GREAT back-to-back-to-back set for that Saturday night.
