Can anyone tell me the deal with the Caledonia area of Dix Hills? Also, can anyone tell me the breakdown of other areas of Dix Hills (north of the LIE).

It’s a nice area as is all of Dix hills. The whole north of lie is nonsense. They have built insane houses all over the town. If you are buying in Dix hills just choose the house you like an make an offer. Mine as well look at Melville also as most areas are similar to Caledonia area and anything that looks like Caledonia area will be in HHH schools also.

A very small portion goes to commack. It’s the areas off Vanderbilt pkwy a bit past Dix hill park.
The Caledonia area the poster refers to is 100% hhh.

For high school, is the area zoned for East or West?

Caledonia area even though is rite by West is zoned for East. The areas off Vanderbilt that are HHH before the zoning changes to Commack schools is zoned West.

Here is a district map

the whole east vs west is nonsense it’s the same district. West is smaller and has a pool, east is bigger and has the planetarium and huge 3k seat Theater.

I only ask for North of the LIE because I have some preferences due to that area having proximity to a few things important to us, that happen to be North of the LIE.

That map shows it, it’s all a path

If you go sunquam, signal hill, paumonak you go to west hollow middle and HS East,
If you go to otsego or vanderbilt you go to candlewood middle and HS West.

If you’re looking north of LIE in Dix hills or Melville it’s going to be HS east.
