i am trying to find out why everyone's property taxes are so high in Timber Ridge. (coram) We love the development, but the taxes are outrageous

Is it because when the development was first built back in the late 90's it was new construction?

Is this the area by the golf course? I am wondering if there are higher fees associated with being a part of that community?

Find out what fire district it is in. I am not familiar with what's where in Coram, but I do know that homes situated in the Gordon Heights pay higher taxes.

The Timber Ridge homes in Stony Brook are dubbed, "Timber Fridge" by local contractors as they were poorly insulated when they were built.

yes the development is off of pine rd, next to the avalon (i think it's called avalon) golf course community. they are separate communities, and i don't think timber ridge has access to the golf course.

the house we like is grieving their taxes at least

Look into the fire taxes ; we live in Medford but are the Gordon Heights fire district. Honestly it stinks.

Our fire taxes are well over $2000 alone.

Good luck

Egads! For those kind of taxes, you could have a home in the 3Vs.

Have you been able to find out what fire district with regards to their taxes?

I would try the agent first. If no luck, perhaps try the Coram Fire Dept and give them the address.
