Default Anyone know of a good place to board pets

We need to find a place where we can safely board our two dachshunds a few times a year when we go away for a weekend or on vacation. We have never boarded them and we really need to feel comfortable about leaving them. We live in the Smithtown area so preferably, we'd like to find a place within a 15 mi radius. Would appreciate posts from those with personal experience.

I have 4 dogs which I board at Cozy Noses in Bohemia. It's just on Locust Ave, just south of Vets -- I believe it's one block west of Lakeland. They are very accommodating, the kennels and runs are clean. My dogs enjoy going there. They offer doggie day camp and other programs in addition to basic boarding.

The Babylon Animal Hospital is great & I can highly recommend them for boarding pets.
Even (grouchy) Gracie the Cat likes it there.

The name Cozy Noses for a kennel is just too darn cute.

Long Island Dog Boarding - The Doggie Nanny--TLC for little doggies - Suffolk County - New York

I have never personally boarded there, but I think it sounds great and would consider using if I needed to, over a kennel or a vet.

PetSmart PetsHotel (one located in Huntington)

I have not used this either but think it seems nice. I plan to visit one day to check it out.

PetsMart hotel has the same address as the PetsMart store -- is it inside of it?

I googled about and see that they charge $31/night/dog for an atrium room, $41 for a suite. As a point of reference, last time my pack was at Cozy Noses, I was paying $25/night/dog.

The PetSmart PetsHotel looks like a neat concept, but I really question to whom it is geared. My guys don't watch TV, could careless if I have tile, wide plank oak are carpeting. Humans are paying extra for chi-chi frills that we appreciate, not pups.

I just drove by Cozy Noses today. I don't have a dog right now, but I made a mental note to remember that when I do because the outside looked adorable!
