nicely put---it seams like this all around.I grew up in queens and moved to the island in 76' and it felt like in the city and on the island everyone was open to being friends with everyone else or at least show them proper respect but not anymore. Such a shame...

I have been to Jones beach within the last two months and I have to say I did not see any roving punks or harnessed by anyone. I usually go to beach #6 to the boardwalk between 5-7pm for walks.
For the most part I see older people taking walks, families, and couples walking and enjoying the beach. I think Jones beach is a nice beach comparing to coney Island. Crime on Long Island is low comparing to many parts of the country..

Ehh...I think a guy who fantasizes about a near-future where oil supplies have dried up and people have no choice but to adopt not only the trades of the 19th century but also the period dress and Hollywood's version of "Old West" dialects, all under heavy religious overtones, might be a little too interesting for me.
