Red face Where can I donate books/skates?
We are moving to, dare I say it, NC from Nassau County. After our garage sale we are left with 6 pairs of rollerblades in good condition that my kids have outgrown and tons of books we don't want or need. Does anyone know where I can donate them to?

If schools are open in your area you may want to donate them there.
Most teachers have their own classroom libraries and can use the books. You can also donate them to a children's hospital.
The skates- I am sure others have ideas.

The Freecycle Network

You can post on the Nassau Cty, NY or Western Suffolk Cty NY boards (just be sure that it is the NY boards as there are several other Suffolks elsewhere, not sure about Nassau)

The idea behind Freecycle is to keep usable items from the landfill. You can post an offer, post a want.

I have offered books this way. Childrens hospitals might not take used books.

Our library in Babylon Village has book sales twice a year. I am on the library board and I can tell you that we would be delighted to have your books.

But, probably is you do not live close by, there is a library near you that does the same thing.
