There are some really good ones on the south shore. Mario's on the Oceanside / Baldwin border on Merrick Road is quite good. The best bakery / pastry shop is Roe's Casa Dolce on Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre (it's one block west of Long Beach Road). Here is the website: Home

I don't know what you looking for, catering, etc...But I do know of someone who caters small and big, will bake a cake, a tray of cookies. VERY GOOD stuff. She works out of a very clean, big kitchen out of her home. She knows her stuff. She delivers with 24 hours notice. Here's an article written about her. Contact info is there...

I live in Rockville Centre and Front Street is average, over-priced and arrogant (ever hear of a bakery that is closed on Sunday???) I drive 10 minutes to the Malverne Pastry shop which is also not cheap but worth it.

LOL!!!You are right about them being arrogant.... I know they are crazy not to be opened when mass let's out from St. Agnes. However I do love the ice cream cakes they make
