Default Cost of Re-pointing a Chimney?

Any ideas on how much it would cost to re-point a chimney? Just looking for a ballpark figure...

Reallly depends on how bad the chimney and wash cap is.....start at $500-$750 for an average chimney that needs work.

It depends on the extent of the work , the height width , scaffolding needed , things of that nature .

Do not let anyone just go over the mortar joints though, they should grind all of the joints to be repointed correctly , or else they are just fingerpainting .
