Default Is this a termite? (pic - don't look if don't like bugs)

I'm wondering if someone (kbinspections?) can help. For some reason I feel like this might be a termite. I saw some of them scamper around together when I opened our shed door last week. Yesterday and today I saw one (same one or not I dk) in our house. Looking at whatsthatbug.com, it looks like an earwig (whatever that is....). I'd say the one below was about 3/4 inch long.

What is this? Reason to want to get rid of, or leave them be?

Holy earwig, Batman! I think they're relatively harmless - even for your garden.

The one above was in our kitchen, as was yesterday's. Is that typical?

Thats an earwig. They are relatively harmless and get into the house from time to time. THey easily fit through cracks under the door and near the hinges. I wouldn't be too concerned. Sometimes they are stirred up if you have recently weeded or gardened and they move their location. THey like dark humid damp places so when you see them, they are usually on the move from somewhere else.

I am terrified of these, can't stand them they look like they bite. Here is a link I found on Wikipedia about earwigs

Earwigs do bite...I think...but very rarely. They are freaky looking, just like those huge house centipedes I also get. When you are in a period of humid weather, which it seems we have been in since the beginning of June, the bugs will be out even more.
I hope the whole summer aint like this. Yet another stalled front for the next week with humidity and a chance of rain each day...
