Default Traveling to Long Island soon

Hi everyone,
I live in North Carolina but I will be traveling to Bellmore,NY soon on business. Can anybody tell me about Bellmore? Is it in Long Island? Is it a nice area? How close is it to Garden City or Hicksville,NY? Where is the best hotel to stay at when I come to Bellmore. What interesting things is there to do in Bellmore? I will be flying into JFK so can I take a cab to Bellmore or should I get on the LIRR? Any information you can provide about Bellmore or Long Island would be greatly appreciated.

If on business, stay at the Garden City Hotel. Nice hotel in the middle of a pretty nice town. Bellmore is maybe 15 minutes away. It's also across the street from a LI Railroad station that goes into NYC in 40 minutes or so. I think you can take the Airtrain to the LIRR in Jamaica, then go to GC. Of course a cab works, too. Bellmore is on LI.

Well, I would rent a car so you can go sightseeing but a livery cer would be the way to go if you are not renting a car.

Garden city is 15 minutes away, you could stay at the Garden city hotel if you have the bucks, very nice.

Go to Jones beach, visit the nautical mile in Freeport, winerys out east (1 hour away), shop at the mirical mile in manhasset or roosevelt filed in garden city. Visit teddy roosevelts home in oyster bay (sagamore hill)

Good luck and have fun!

For those who may not be familiar with Bellmore:

Bellmore is a hamlet (an unincorporated area) in the south section of the Town of Hempstead, in the central-south part of Nassau County.

Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Hamlet of Bellmore in the Town of Hempstead is bordered on the north by the Hamlet of North Bellmore; on the east by the Hamlet of Wantagh; on the south by the East Bay; and, on the west by the Hamlet of Merrick.

Bellmore is one of those villages and hamlets on Long Island where the majority of the places with the community name in their mailing address are not in the hamlet: places that have a "Bellmore, NY 11710" mailing address that are not in the Hamlet of Bellmore are in the Hamlet of North Bellmore, the Hamlet of Merrick and the Hamlet of Wantagh.

For a good set of town-by-town maps showing all the villages and hamlets in each of LI's 13 towns (3 in Nassau County and 10 in Suffolk County): http://www.city-data.com/forum/long-...-resource.html

MTAtech is on a distinguished road
I concur with a suggestion to rent a car from the airport. Bellmore is a LI suburb. It's about 15 minutes north of Jones Beach, one of the nicest beaches anywhere. If you go to the beach on a weekday, it won't be too crowded.

If you have time, head east and visit the LI wineries and do tasting. LI has dozens of wineries. What's interesting about LI is that it ranges from 70x100 suburb homes to rural farm lands. If you have lots of time, you can do a wine tour to Orient Point and take the ferry to Connecticut and go to the casinos.

If your time is limited, I recommend the Cradle of Aviation Museum, an air and space museum.
