We will be moving to Massapequa Park in August. Any pointers and or recommendations? Pizza places Chinese? other eating places? Shopping? Supermarkets? Plumbers electricians?

Any good Massapequa Websites?

Thanks....

Eat at All American. When I moved to Queens I realized that many of the "great" pizzerias, delis and bagel places on LI paled in comparison to what we got here, but I've never been able to find a cheeseburger as good as All American. A lot of annoying teenagers from all over the county are there at night, but that's the only downside. Place is fabulous.

Default For those who may not be familiar with Massapequa Park

For those who may not be familiar with Massapequa Park:

Massapequa Park is a village (incorporated in 1931) in the southeast part of the Town of Oyster Bay, in the southeast part of Nassau County.

Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Village of Massapequa Park in the Town of Oyster Bay is bordered on the north by the Hamlet of North Massapequa and the Hamlet of South Farmingdale; on the east by the Hamlet of East Massapequa; on the south by South Oyster Bay and the Hamlet of Massapequa; and, on the west by the Hamlet of Massapequa and the Hamlet of North Massapequa.

The Village of Massapequa Park has a different border than does the "Massapequa Park, NY 11762" ZIP Code postal zone (i.e., a place can have a the "Massapequa Park, NY 11762" mailing address and not be in the Village of Massapequa Park): places with a "Massapequa Park, NY 11762" mailing address that are not in the Village of Massapequa Park are in the Hamlet of Massapequa, the Hamlet of North Massapequa and the Hamlet of East Massapequa.

For a good set of town-by-town maps showing all the villages and hamlets in each of LI's 13 towns (3 in Nassau County and 10 in Suffolk County): Excellent Long Island Geographic Resource

Massapequa Park is a great town, Westfield mall is just up Sunrise Hwy, and other shopping along the way. Schools are great, I think you will be very happy there!

Massapequa Park definitely has more "stuff" along the entire sunrise strip leading up to the mall. Tons of convenient stores (Michaels, waldbaums, babys r us, toys r us, panera, fridays, dd, staples and lots more plus you have the mall mall (which is great except for the walmart there) and a few gyms and banks etc.. It has a lot more than Massapequa but both are awesome areas. Phils ii and ginos on merrick are excellent pizzerias..ciao baby has monster italian portions if you like that, fridays is ok. There's also a great little shopping center (king kullen) with a new asian moon place (excellent) and awesome place zim zari (cali style food) along with smokin als on Merrick (all these mentioned in the park).
I think shopping wise and convenience, massapequa park rules.. but you may be able to get a better deal in massapequa price-wise. Both are winners, you will find a lot more places as you explore. Check Yelp. com for 11762 or 11758.
