Default George's Bakery :)

I grew up in Rockville Centre. Hi RVC! Am just reminiscing as I read your posts.... is anyone old enough to remember George's Bakery on Sunrise Highway in RVC? I loved it. Even worked there for a while. Sigh....

Cheers.

- LillieB.

Is Swan Bakery in Patchogue still around? I remember going there a long time ago and it was great!

Post WOW! Hope You Read This! Georeg's Bakery RVC

Hi LillieB...

Going through my mail tonight and opened up a "free" copy of "Cuisine at home" magazine...they are looking for me to subscribe...

Anyhow, the front cover has a picture of Boston Cream Pie. I have made a few in my time - many, many years ago when I entertained - but for some reason thought about the great Boston Cream Pies my Mom would get from George's Bakery when we lived in Lynbrook...Ohhhh, sooo many good memories sooo long ago. When life was good without a worry in the world!

Googled George's in the hopes they had a web site. Guess they don't need one. Who has time to fool with the web when they have people standing on line with a number in their hand! Boy do I ever miss Long Island. But I did come across this message board or whatever you call it.

We later moved to Miller Place, so know about Patchogue, but can't remember the Swan Bakery mentioned in another post after your post..

Now live in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee...don't ask me how or why! The house is on the market. However, we do have folks living here from Stony Brook....

Sorry to rattle so much...miss HOME. If I had the money, I'd go back in a heartbeat....

Have fun!
Elaine Johnston

Anyone remember Sally's Bakery on Elmont Road? Had to wait to get in over the week-ends.
