Hi... I've spoken with two movers for quotes on a move from LI to Central NJ. One quoted based on weight, the other on time. Which is recommended?

In my experience, for interstate moves, you are probably better off by weight, however, you might want to look at the following:

1) how did the two compare?

2) how much p/hr p/person? any fuel surcharge?

3) how much are they charging for packaging?

4) does each quote include insurance (usually quoted based on weight)?
