Hello,
I'm looking around for a new apartment. The place I'm currently in has the electric included in the rent (ie: ILLEGAL).... I'm looking for a 2BR place when I move.... can any renters give me an idea of what you pay for LIPA every month for electric?

Don't assume it is illegal just because the electric is included. If it is in the home owners home, ask them to see a copy of their accessory apartment permit. If it is non-owner occupied check with your town to see if it is a legal two family.
To answer your specific question: If your electric covers your regular electric as well as an electric stove (does not include heat) figure on average about $100 - $150 per month. It may be higher in the summer if you use air conditioners.
See below, our LIPA bills since last October. 2 adults in a 1 bedroom, living room, eat in kitchen and full bath. Our AC has been running 24-7 since June. I can't explain what happened in October???????

Either that or maybe they did an estimated reading in Sept...and caught up in Oct? I would call them...with their rediculous rates I give them no benefit of the doubt.
i am on a budget with lipa about 65.00 a month with 3 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, small living room.
