LIPA is also generous with their Solar Pioneer Program. Want lower electric bills and also help your country and world? Take advantage of this program.
I did this about seven years ago and glad that I did. The panels are paid for themselves and now 22% of my electricity is made from the sun.

I just left the UK--where British Gas hiked its prices 35%. (No PSC there either, they can jack it up as much as they want.)
Everyone's hurting, and all the energy companies are raising prices.

On Oahu, electricity is 0.34/Kwh. On some of the smaller islands it is 0.60 a KwH!!!

I love how LIPA is always promoting these programs to help their customers save energy. Uh yeah they want us to use less energy which equals pay them less? It's just a front because they want us to use less energy so that when they raise their rates to even more breathtaking heights ... and they always do even though LI is at the forefront when it comes to electricity costs all over the nation ... they think we will complain less about the rate hike since we are using less. Can you say SNEAKY?

There's no consitancy either one month 50 another 250. and my usage hasn't changed. The "customer service" is nasty and doesn't listen. But they hold the monopoly and we have no choice. No competing energy company can get on the island.

Remember all the phony promises of steep declines in electricity rates when LILCO, a "for profit" company was ousted in favor of LIPA, a "not for profit" company? So LIPA is not for profit and we still have the highest electricity rates in the nation!
