Thinking of Moving to Long Island...good school districts
Hi,
I am thinking of moving to Long Island with my husband. What areas have the best school districts and are no more than 45 min to NYC? We would also love to find an area with good shopping and restaurants.  Thanks!!! |

it's going to be hard, even say you live in Great Neck and your house is only a short walk to the train station, still that's 35 minutes train ride and then you have to add another walk off Penn station, that's assuming another short walk to office, i don't know...

Yeah, but if you calculate it door to door, you need to be living in very select parts of NYC to get a short commute. A half hour subway ride would be very typical if you lived outside Manhattan or a few parts of Brooklyn/Queens (depending on where you worked). Or near a PATH station in NJ.

IMO: Look at Wantagh, MerricK or or Bellmore but it will be real close to that 400k #.......Good luck |

For that money......check out Rockville Centre, Garden City or some North shore towns if commuting is not an issue. Good luck! |
