Default If money were no object.....

Where on LI would you live?

I would choose Cold Spring Harbor... a home right on the water.

Maybe Great Neck or Manhasset. Right on the border of the city in a really good location, but not too city-like at the same time.

Most likely Dix Hills, in a big sprawling ranch on a flat acre-plus of property. (This is assuming the money-is-no object extends past just the purchase price and into taxes and upkeep!) It's residential yet accessible, and supremely convenient for traveling to anywhere in Nassau or Suffolk. Although waterfront (north of 25A/south of 27A) areas are pretty, we've been there/done that and don't want to have to worry about flooding or hurricane problems anymore.

p.s. added: I just remembered an area I loved, about 25 or so years ago: Laurel Hollow. If it hasn't changed in the interim then if money were no object that's probably where I'd choose. Assuming also that the zoning is still 1-acre minimum.

or Sag Harbor.

I often regret not buying in Sag Harbor when we were buying first.

My ultimate dream is to run a small agri-tourism business and an off grid eco-friendly Bed & Breakfast, I'd prefer the North Fork but if money were no object the South fork would work too. I'd like 4 acres of more.

I think about that all the time....and I just know I'd end up staying in Huntington Village but in a bigger house closer to town.

Being a real estate agent I always notice that people never leave Huntington Village, they just sell their homes and move somewhere else in Huntington....I guess I'd become one of those people lol

Second Choice - Locust Valley/Lattingtown
Third Choice - Smithtown/Nesconset/Stoney Brook all by 25A

I just love these places

Can I interest you in my house? It's in your 3rd choice category...LOL

If money were no object, I'd buy Don Pius' estate in Old Field, waterfront, 38 acres. I'd then restore it properly.

Centre Island with a summer home in Mattituck/Southhold and a small apt in NYC.

You did say money was no object!
