the commute is on the Oyster Bay line, there's only a few express in the early morning rush hours, otherwise not the best line

Default For those who may not be familiar with East Hills

The Village of East Hills can be a very confusing community: it's in five different ZIP Code postal zones ("Roslyn, NY 11576", "Roslyn Heights, NY 11577", "Greenvale, NY 11548" and "Old Westbury, NY 11568") and it's in two different towns (it's mostly in the Town of North Hempstead, but a small section is in the Town of Oyster Bay), as well as it's in two different school districts (the small section that is in the Town of Oyster Bay is in the Jericho Union Free School District, while most of the community is in the Roslyn Union Free School District).

For those who may not be familiar with East Hills:

East Hills is a village (incorporated in 1931) partly in the central-east part of the Town of North Hempstead and partly in the northwest part of the Town of Oyster Bay, in the north-central part of Nassau County.

Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Village of East Hills in the Towns of North Hempstead and Oyster Bay is bordered on the north by the Village of Roslyn Harbor in the Town of North Hempstead and the Hamlet of Greenvale in the Towns of North Hempstead and Oyster Bay; on the east by the Village of Brookville and the Village of Old Westbury in the Town of Oyster Bay; on the south by the Hamlet of Roslyn Heights in the Town of North Hempstead; and, on the west by the Hamlet of Roslyn Heights and the Village of Roslyn in the Town of North Hempstead.

East Hills is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community have the village name in their mailing address: places in the Village of East Hills have a "Roslyn, NY 11576", "Roslyn Heights, NY 11577", "Greenvale, NY 11548" and "Old Westbury, NY 11568" mailing address.

For a good set of town-by-town maps showing all the villages and hamlets in each of LI's 13 towns (3 in Nassau County and 10 in Suffolk County): http://www.city-data.com/forum/long-...-resource.html

Yes, you thought right: I forgot to include that part of the Village of East Hills is also in the East Williston Union Free School District (the high school for this district is Wheatley High School).

On the old maps at the Nassau County Planning Commission, the Jericho Union Free School District is shown as the Jericho-Wheatley Union Free School District, suggesting that there once was a Wheatley School District (probably a Common School District) that formed a "Union" with the Jericho School District, also probably a Common School District before becoming a "Union Free School District".
