Default Salisbury Estates

Does anyone know much about the Salisbury Estates section of Westbury? It seems like a great place to live but how do the schools compare to some of the surrounding districts? According to the scores in Newsday, Clark HS doesn't seem to do as good as some other school districts in Nassau. Should we be concerned that this is not a solid school district?

As I posted to your earlier thread about "the Salisbury Estates section of Westbury", while most of the Hamlet of Salisbury has a "Westbury, NY 11590" mailing address, Salisbury is not in "Westbury".

Salisbury is a hamlet (an unincorporated area) in the Town of Hempstead while Westbury is a village (a municipal corporation) in the Town of North Hempstead.

We looked there and passed on the area. Too close to some iffy areas IMO, prefer to spend our money in a more solid area.

Don't talk about a place you if you never go there. You will be perfectly safe and fine in Salisbury.

Even New Cassel is safe and has low crime rates compared to the rest of the country. Most of its stigma comes from the color of the population and how much money they make.

And Garrden City is next to Hempstead...........better stay away from tooooooooooooooo

You are right... the article of the mother killing her 3 kids must have just been one of my nightmares.

New Cassel is one of the worst areas in Nassau County, just google it to find out for yourself.

That can happen anywhere and has happen other places. Nothing to do with the community as a whole and everything to do with a crazy women who happen to live there.

I have goggled it, and you want to know what I found out? If you stop looking at opinions and look at the numbers New Cassel is a pretty safe place. With lower crime rate lower then 95% of places with the same population and the only reason it stands out is that most of Long Island is safer then 95.2% of places with the same population........and oh yeah they are colored.

06/24/08) NEW CASSEL - Authorities responding to a 911 call found a woman dead on the second floor of an abandoned New Cassel home.
Police made the grisly discovery around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday. The woman's body was found under a pile of debris.

A man was taken away in a squad car as News 12 Long Island arrived at the scene, but he was not in handcuffs.

Police are only saying that they are investigating the death as a homicide and are trying to make an accurate identification of the body.

According to neighbors, the house has been vacant for three years and has a history of trouble surrounding it.

Here is a post in another thread on this very forum:
The problem is things like this occur frequently in New Cassel. In the past year there has been several gang attacks, rapes, and we of course cannot forget the senseless deaths of children that happened a few months ago. When I ride the bus through there I always see police activity. At least the NCPD is doing more in the area I guess.
But it's always been a ghetto, this is nothing new, and I dont think the new buildings going up are going to change a thing. As long as slumlords are allowed to own so many illegal rentals the community will continue to suffer. If slumlords were owning illegal rentals in places like Manhasset, they'd be on it right away. Same goes for a vacant house with squatters. But because it's New Cassel, North Hempstead Town doesn't get involved, since they have no desire to try and fix ghettos.
No place can be completely safe from crime, but New Cassel has a too frequent occurance of it.
As long as the area is dumped on by slumlords, section 8, welfare motels, it will remain a ghetto.

Look I don't want to get into any racial war about New Cassel, it is what it is. The OP should check out salisbury and decide for him/herself.

Your point about garden city is well taken, except in GC they have their own police force who seems to be omnipresent.
