Personally, I suggest people check out the sex offender website to make certain they steer clear of cluster areas on LI. The number of sex offenders in that area have no impact at all on the performance of children in the Longwood Schools.
One of the areas the OP asked about is Ridge, which is a nice place within the Longwood School District.
No one was saying anything negative until you jumped in and even then, you were the only one whose comments tilted toward the negative side, even though you were trying to defend the place you are proud to call home.
