Oceanside or So. Merrick? Schools? (high school, move to, rated)

So we are considering a very likely move to one of the above towns and we like certain things about each. I probably lean toward Oceanside, DH probably toward So. Merrick. But only looking at schools, what do you think? We'd be in either School 4 or 9 in Oceanside.

I've heard mixed things about Kennedy High School - some say it's snobby and lots of drugs? Thoughts?

I don't care much for Oceanside; lousy highway access and the town has very little character. Schools are probably a toss-up between the two, both are highly rated with, I think, a slight edge to Merrick. Merrick is also a tad pricier. Go with whatever town you like better.
