wow thats a lot for some rims and tires, but I guess if you're getting new rims from the factory, and the tires aren't cheap.
sucky thing is I doubt they'll get much for them.

Thanks alot greedy business owners looking for cheap labor and low costs, your destroying our country. Its such a shame that all those who pander and support illegal immigrants are not the ones who end up having homes robbed, cars stolen, etc. Its easy to talk about how wonderful illegals are when your not the one who has to suffer from them ... look at Dave Kapell's comment's in Newsday today for a prime example.

I feel for you if your car tires got stolen but don't assume it's done by illegals even if you can confirm that the guys doing the theft are hispanic. Contrary to prior belief on this forum, someone isn't an illegal jsut because they are a thief or hispanic (or any other minority for that matter). U.S. citizens do commit crimes too!

It is a side effect. People who have broken laws once often repeatedly break the law.

Anyone else hear of this happening in the area? I'm a little reluctant to get my car back after this whole experience. Wheel locks don't seem to be the end all solution to the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

It's your right to bear arms but make sure you don't shoot into your neighbors windows. Yes I know that's a terrible response but I'm just saying out loud what some people can't. Remember that guy in Texas who shot those two burglars? I'm not saying do what he did but maybe just a leg shot. Okay that's probably a bad idea maybe but....
Here's a better solution: Since you guys are all talking together and communicating you should form a small committee. The burglars made a big mistake because they were too lazy to geographically scatter there booty therefore creating a small community of victims and neighbors of victims. So now that you have a small committee why don't you all chip in and hire a Private Investigator or Security guard. Or better yet have someone volunteer to stay up late with an infrared camera to take a shot of the license plate and possibly faces or maybe just to call the police.
A client of mine requested I install a steel security door on her garage. They broke in twice stealing a snow blower, lawn mowers and tools. She found the items for sale on Ebay went to the house (ehmmm... in Brentwood) to look and sure enough it was her stuff. She confronted the burglars but couldn't prove it was hers. She lives in Brightwaters.

I don't have suggestions. Frankly I'm all for owning guns, but don't think I'd be keen to use one in this situation. 1) they aren't in your house, yes they are on your property taking your stuff, but the use of potentially deadly force is only allowable when you or your family are in justifiable mortal danger, this doesn't count. 2) Even if they are scum, not sure I could look myself in the mirror for possibly killing someone over my rims. 3) if they are armed.......
you could use your garage, band together with others in your community and start a watch.
I sold my car partially for this reason, I didn't have a garage, and was just sick and tired.

This thread caught my eye. We have the same problem here and the Police reports are proof. In many but not all cases it's the children of Illegal Aliens. By default of being born here they are classified Americans.

Hey Jeremy,
I haven't heard of any others happening around here again, I'd be surprised if you were the only one in your area since they seemed to move over a couple blocks off of Bay shore rd to you.....Have you checked around to see if any of the other blocks near you got hit at all.....
Unfortunately if you dont have a garage or a fence that you can park the car behind and lock as a deterant not sure what you can do....
I know 2 out of the 3 are now behind locked fences at night...
It really sucks.......
