Maybe the cops could set up a sting.

Wow ....I can't believe they're still at it........
they are stealing neighbors bricks and hoisting up the cars.......that really sucks......my neighbors havent heard a thing from the cops since it happened......needless to say their car is still locked behind their fence...
ya know what a big problem is w//the police is that alot of pcts turn out of firehouses and they dont get updates often maybe once a week or so when they have to go into the pct and so alot of times they arent even informed of whats happening in the neighborhoods they are covering....
The officer that came next door to me knew of the house around the block the week before but the house that got hit on the next road the next morning the cop on duty had no clue....... so I dont know if a "sting" is going to do much......although I would think patroling all the surrounding blocks is a must for days afterwards is since these morons seem to not have an issue with staying in an area for days if not weeks hitting cars on every street one after another.....
I can only imagine how many more vehicles have been hit that we dont know about.....I mean just me posting it here I know of 7 so they have some racket going......
Sorry for you loss.....it really does suck.....and it doesnt seem like anyone is going to get their $ back and or these guys are going to get caught......(I hope they do though)

Wow, has brentwood gone down that much? i grew up there in the 70's-80's and left in 88' and i hear nothing good about that place. It was nice growing up there where everybody knows everybody and they looked out for one another.

This doesnt have anything to do w/brentwood.....the cars listed here were hit in West Islip, Bay Shore, North Babylon and Lindenhurst.....I'm sure there are plenty more in other towns we just havent heard of....
There are areas in Brentwood that are fine and others that I don't feel to comfortable in but that can be said for many parts of towns all over....

This JUST happened to a woman I know who lives near Bay Shore/Brentwood!
She noticed her pavers missing and called the police. Turns out her neighbor around the block had his wheels stolen and the thieves used her blocks to hold up the car!

How can this go on for so long without them being caught ? They are , after all , staying in the same vicinity, it seems.

Sounds like residents need to take their digital cameras and/or web cams and point them out the window all night to catch those jerks.
