West Islip.....Cars Having Tires/Rims Stolen
Just wanted to let everyone be aware that crooks are stealing the tires/rims right in the driveways. Its been happening between midnight and atleast
8 am.
My neighbor woke up to their car sitting on 4 paver landscaping bricks
They take the tires/rims and left the lugnuts.
This was done right in the driveway under a streetlight
The police said last week they hit the next block over and this morning we woke up to another home hit with the car in the driveway sitting 5 feet from the house on our side block.
One car was a 2009 Acura Legend and the other was a Nissan Maxima......Not sure what the other was....
Seems like they are taking the expensive alloy rims. Basically I'm just putting it out there so people are aware....The police said they interested in a white full size van with no side windows and only back windows....Don't know if someone saw something or how they got that info.....but if you live in West Islip and see anything like that lingering around I would take note and jot down a plate Number....
By the way I am N of Sunrise off of Udall Rd...
Just be aware they have gotten atleast $10k worth of tires/rims over the past week........

Hmmm. Looks like the crooks are at it again. I live in Islip and they have hit almost every Nissan Maxima and Altima in the development. They were hitting about every 2 weeks for a year. They were caught and prosecuted about 3 months ago.
FYI = The four suspects were of hispanic decent and from the Central Islip/Brentwood area. They used a small white four door sedan with a loud muffler when comitting these crimes. Keep your ears and eyes open it may be them again!

How shocking ....
This is why WI needs to become an incorporated village with its own police department instead of the SCPD bimbos who care about little more then filing out overtime slips.

It's really creepy how they just keep coming back and are doing it right out in the open (under the street lights and steps from a front door)
Havent seen the police around this morning.....so hopefully its over......I'm really surprised that they came back 2 more times after the first all within a block from one another.....obviously they weren't to scared to do it again.....
I feel really bad for my neighbor, I mean it could have been so much worse....them coming into the house or more, but you still feel violated that while you were sleeping these jerkoffs were on your property taking whats yours....
Hopefully they get greedy and get themselves caught.......Just be aware and keep your eyes open for anyone driving around slowly and lingering that isn't familiar......

Exactly. They would park a couple blocks away from the car they were targeting. It didnt matter if it was under the lights or right in front of the window. The poor owner would come out to leave for work and the car would be on blocks. My neighbor got hit 2 times and decided to trade the car in for a diff. model.

Funny you mentioned the guys going to jail ( well not so funny) but at first the police said they thought it was kids crossing over Bay Shore road to grab some rims for their souped up cars and now they are saying it may be a group that just got out of jail and are back to their ways......
Maybe same guys different town.....

Get car alarms and locking lug nuts. A car alarm is 2 hundred bucks done the right way and for another buck fifty you can throw in a remote start and warm your car in the morning during the winter. locking lugs are about 50 bucks. The lugs alone arent enough...they can get them off but they would set the alarm off trying. PM me for suggestions on where to go

My neighbors car is a 2009 Acura legend and yes it has an alarm....funny for the $ the car cost you would think it would come with standard locking lugnuts but it didnt.....the replacement ones now do
the other car was a nissan maxima....not sure year but looked pretty new and the other from what I understand was a 2009 Honda....
I would assume that alarms would be pretty standard.....and obviously the alarms weren't set off....
