I believe that the poster is referring to the Ricky Kasso case back in 1984. It was a murder involving Northport teens who were allegedly involved in devil worship.

Yes the area accessed by Steers Avenue (Northport Bay Estates) is called "The Pit" by locals, a name that came from before the homes were built there.

Mastic cant be any worse then huntington. I work on main street in huntington. Atleast once a year the banks here get robbed. Right by the train station people are always getting robbed. On main street now GANGS of kids roam main street and trash benches and the store fronts.

My parents looked in mastic area and I didnt asee anything close to whats happening in huntington (the rich area of huntington included).

As of yet we haven't shut down any schools due to shootings so I guess thats a +1 in our column.
