For those who may not be familiar with East Quogue:
East Quogue is a hamlet (an unincorporated area) in the west section of the Town of Southampton, in the southeast part of Suffolk County.
Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Hamlet of East Quogue in the Town of Southampton is bordered on the north by the Hamlet of Flanders; on the east by the Hamlet of Hampton Bays; on the south by Shinnecock Bay and the Village of Quogue; and, on the west by the Hamlet of Westhampton.
The Hamlet of East Quogue has a different border than does the "East Quogue, NY 11942" ZIP Code postal zone (i.e., a place can have an "East Quogue, NY 11942" mailing address and not be in the Hamlet of East Quogue and a place can have other than an "East Quogue, NY 11942" mailing address and be in the Hamlet of East Quogue): places that have an "East Quogue, NY 11942" mailing address that are not in the Hamlet of East Quogue are in the Hamlet of Hampton Bays, the Hamlet of Flanders and the Village of Quogue; and, at the same time, there are places in the Hamlet of East Quogue with a "Quogue, NY 11959" and a "Westhampton Beach, NY 11978" mailing address.
For a good set of town-by-town maps showing all the villages and hamlets in each of LI's 13 towns (3 in Nassau County and 10 in Suffolk County):
