I don’t think you can touch anything in East Hampton for. Under a Millon dollars.
Ton of stock under a million.
I'd say under 500k is tough. And good luck getting it when it's available.
Scumbag investors and Cidiots scoop that stuff up cash as soon as its hits the market.
6 months later its 6 or 700k and up.
West Babylon HS ‘61. Chuckie Ohmiller baseball, Jerry Riviera football (NOT) the half-gym at the old HS.
Smokin in the boys room and across the street in “the woods “.
The goofy crossing guard at the LIRR tracks
Hassle and Fisher (RIP). The candy store near the HS where you could buy comics and
5cent chewable milk bottles with flavoring inside. Fifty cent haircuts. Skating at argyle park.
We got our first radio station WGLI, talk and tunes. The Babylon Town Beach and salt water pool.
Fishing on Great South Bay and treading for clams. Amazy(at the time) Captree Bridge.
Hot humid summers cold winters, oil burners. Delivering Newsday for 35 cents a week and lucky to collect
50 cents, luckier to get paid at all. Proto’s Italian bakery. So much more

Out in the woods or in the Springs you can find stuff for under a million, but you are not going to find anything south of the highway (near the ocean) or in the village for that price.

Tjey were so convenient also models had a place for kids to watch movies while there parents shopped that's what made Long Island special to me

Everyone's house had paneling. Some had shag carpeting. A few had plastic covering the couch.
Oil burners and those delivery trucks with tanks trawling the street.
Eating at diners after midnight.
Twisted Sister and concerts on the beach.
Ice cream trucks in April, or March if they were pushing it.
Encountering people you knew from school working at the mall.
Sunrise Drive In Theater (RIP)
The Kitchen Sink at Jahn's (RIP)

Sounds like you grew up around the same time and same place as I did. 1970's in Lynbrook. Used to see Twisted Sister all the time at Speaks. Love Jahn's and sneaking people in the trunk at the drive in. Good times!
