Default Billy Joel

My Mom Went To High School With Billy Joel In The Mid Sixties. Hicksville High School. My Dad Used To Hang Around With The Older Brother Of One Of Billys High School Bandmates. He Recalls Yelling At Them To Stop Making Noise When They Jammed In His Friends Basement. Funny. Both My Parents Grew Up In Hicksville Till They Married And Moved To Patchogue Where I Grew Up. The Last Time I Was In Hicksville I Thought I Was In India. Even The Old Theater Only Plays Indian Movies. Times Have Changed I Guess.

Default Billy Joel

Tim,
I grew up in Hicksville across the street from one of Billy Joel's bandmates. He went on to become a member of the group Ram Jam. Awesome bass player.

The rumor that I heard going around when I was younger was the music teacher in the middle school there (we called it Junior High School back then) told Billy Joel that he'd never amount to anything. Of course this same man came to school wearing the same clothes every day of the school year...lol

Yessir...I guess times change fast. only about 4% in 2000, but 7 years is a lifetime. We'll see in 2010, I guess. Hicksville is looking more and more like Queens every day.

Remember when Nathans was in Hicksville? It had a deli and even had chinese food and pizza which was awful. Does anyone remember when they banned detergent in Suffolk County? I remember my Mom going to Hicksville Pathmark to buy regular saop like Tide because Suffolk County was phospherus (sp) free!
