Who was the WABC jock that used to remind us beach goers to "Roll your bod" every half hour or so?

If you grew up on LI in the 70's the big question was:
Who was better, Zebra, Twisted Sister or the Good Rats?
There all great but you forgot Southern Cross which made a great time to live on long island

I was more of a Zebra fan, but liked the Good Rats. TS? Saw them live, enjoyed the show, but did not run out and buy their records (ah LPs!)
I don't recall Southern Cross -- were they a cover band?

I used to work at the Grill Store on the other side of the Island Rec shopping center. We hung out at Rum Bottoms and ate pizza at Pizza Cove. I was quite a healthy walk from there -- lived south of the SS between 107 & Broadway.
