This has been driving me nuts for years....was there ever a bar in Glen Head called The Mug? And where exactly was it? Or was that all just a dream?

I saw you at Pastime Pub and Hammerheads. We loved your band! We also saw Freelance Vandals at Pastime but the greatest thrill of my life (and my first concert ever....with fake ID) was seeing the Ramones at Pastime in '79. We were five feet away from them and the place was packed (I couldn't hear properly for hours)! One of my greatest regrets was losing that ticket stub that I had held on to for many years. Pastime would print up these beautiful, Roxy-type, tickets for many of their bigger shows and The Ramones ticket was awesome. I'm so pissed I lost it at some point, the pack rat that I am. There were so many great clubs on the Island back then. Hammerheads was huge, and all the great bands played there (Otter Creek, Crystal Ship, Good Rats, The Vandals, Zebra, Sister, you name it). What a music scene back then. I even saw U2 at Malibu in 1980 or 81.

I love this forum!

12/13/81. Then this ought to bring back memories. My favorite parts of that show was the Edge going into the wrong part of the song and tuning up, two things that you will not see him do on stage anymore.

Yes! That's the show! Edge did seem a bit uncomfortable on stage at that point in their career but Bono was already full of confidence. I actually found a trader online a few years back that had the show on disc. He burned a copy for me. It's basically the same as every live bootleg of theirs from back then but I can listen and say I was somewhere in that crowd.

Malibu was great. Also saw the Plasmatics and Johnny Thunders there too. I did get ticked after following them through those early gigs at Malibu, Stony Brook and the gig by the Intrepid (the Alarm were the openers, great show) that I was shut out of the Joshua Tree tour.

Now one I'm surprised no one mentioned was Dream Syndicate opening for some other band at a roller rink in Setauket(?). Loved Dream Syndicate, not sure what happened to the headliner.

I spent a lot of the late 70's and early 80's following around bands with my friends. First there was The Stanton Anderson band who played mostly Springsteen. Then I found Broken Arrow and we did the Long Island tour every weekend --there was a bunch of us, girls and guys....Sunday nights at The Right Track Inn in Freeport was home base....Glory Days

Can anybody legally get me a MP3 of Undercover Lover(?) by Broken Arrow? It was their song on the WBAB Homegrown album. I've had that opening riff in my head ever since I heard it.
