The Hokey-Pokey truck was green and specialized in Italian Ices.

I always thought it was the Goodjewmer man that came around.
But, then I called UPS, the United Apostles for years. I still think of them that way. Too much Cathollic schools, I guess.

I always loved how those little childhood ditties somehow spread across the Island. And to think we somehow did it without the internet.

Camp Marydale in Farmingdale
When I was a kid in the 60's my parents sent me to a Catholic day-camp named Camp Marydale in Farmingdale. Does anyone else remember it?

Summer stuff
The first place that I used the high dive was Wantagh Pool. My friends and I were allowed to take our bikes from North Seaford down to the pool. I think we had to cross Sunrise Hwy and Merrick Road. I can't imagine ever letting my kids do that now.
I went to day camp called Kenwal. I'm not exactly sure of the location. I think it was around Huntington. Is it still around?

I remember the "Quiet Village" quite well. We were the house band there for almost a year. Great memories from that place.
