Anybody in here originally from Huntington? Do you remember back in the 70's
a small restaurant called " Hamburger Choo Choo "? At least that what i recall.

It was somewhere in Huntington village. And the place burned down.

Your food ( Burgers & Fries ) would be served on a small toy train set. I was very young so i my memories are not so clear.

Anybody , anybody?

My husband and I both grew up in Huntington. He remembers Hamburger choo choo. I barely remember it. He thinks it was on the corner of Main Street and Green or Main and New Street.

That place is fun. Sort of like a mini-diner/ Ice Cream parlor all wrapped up in one! But, no train to deliver your food!!!!

Default my dad's restaurant

hamburger choo choo was my dad's restaurant in the mid 1960s, i worked there behind the counter with freddy, billy, kurt, walter and the rest. it was a great place to watch the parade from the roof, also i remember in the great blackout of 1964 we were able to cook burgers on the gas grill, using citronella candles for lighting. the kids from centerport picked up the bus outside, so i got to know loads of them that way.

it was the most expensive burger in town at 55 cents but worth every penny. i still know the recipe.

Default ps

it was a lionel train, you had to slow that thing around the corners or the burgers would go flying off the flatbed cars.
