firewood around Plainview/Farmingdale
I'm looking to get a 1/2 cord of firewood delivered. There's a bunch of places on Craigslist and in the Pennysaver, but I've heard that a lot of them can't be trusted. Either they deliver less than ordered, wood that hasn't been seasoned long enough, and/or pine. Does anyone have a trustworthy source that delivers in the Plainview/Farmingdale vicinity?

on jericho turnpike right before Oheika castle--I believe it is between woodbury and cold spring hills--- there is a huge wooded area next to a horse stables where they have wood carvings out along the side of the road and there is an enormous sign that says firewood. I am sure they can help you. (It is right near round swamp road where it intersects with jericho turnpike.) Hope this helps.

Just be careful to make sure it isn't wood infested with asian longhorn...they have been doing a number on the trees for the past couple of years.

Long Island Firewood
I just purchased my firewood & scheduled my delivery online. These guys have kiln dried firewood and there are more types than I know anything about. I thought the wood seemed a little pricey, but WOW this wood is great & my 1/2 cord was like the last full cord I bought from the nursery down the road. Absolutely no comparison to all the firewood I've bought in the past.

Prianti Farms is fast and reliable. Never had a problem with delivery or with quality of fully seasoned wood. They also sell quantities of wood that are correct with measurements specified for a cord, face cord, etc. I usually get a 2-Row Special which lasts several months, as my home has just a small fireplace used about weekly. Came highly recommended to me, and now i highly recommend to others.
