I'm sorry, when I meant Malverne, I was taking about the actual community. Unless I misunderstood, I thought it was mostly White and specifically Italian. Here's some info.: Malverne village, New York - QT-P5. Race Alone or in Combination:**2000
Malverne village, New York - QT-P13. Ancestry:**2000 (according to this info., it is 38% Italian-American)
Also, here are the school districts demographics too: http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet...-redoLog=false

While 38% is a significant amount, when I think of something as "mostly" or "majority" I think in terms of over 50%.

For those who may not be familiar with Malverne:
Malverne is a village (incorporated in 1921) in the west-central part of the Town of Hempstead, in the southwest part of Nassau County.
Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Village of Malverne in the Town of Hempstead is bordered on the north by the Hamlet of Franklin Square and the Hamlet of Malverne-Oaks; on the east by the Hamlet of Lakeview; on the south by the Village of Lynbrook and the Hamlet of North Lynbrook; and, on the west by the Village of Valley Stream and the Hamlet of North Valley Stream.
The Village of Malverne has a different border than does the "Malverne, NY 11565" ZIP Code postal zone (i.e., a place can have a "Malverne, NY 11565" mailing address and not be in the Village of Malverne): most of these places that have a "Malverne, NY 11565" mailing address but are not in the Village of Malverne are in the Hamlet of Malverne-Oaks.
For a good set of town-by-town maps showing all the villages and hamlets in each of LI's 13 towns (3 in Nassau County and 10 in Suffolk County): http://www.city-data.com/forum/long-...-resource.html

Could you please provide a link
[quote=I_Love_LI_but;6849544]Malverne was rated in Newsday very recently as one of the few districts most in need of improvement on Long Island. .
Could you please tell where you saw the recent Newsday rating on Malverne Schools. I can't seem to find it and as a parent of Malverne students would very much like a chance to read it. Thanks.

As I posted above in the thread, that was a mistake. Malverne was not on the most recent list.

Thank you for clearing that up. I must have missed the original post stating your correction.

Lakeview, West Hempstead or RVC?
