New York State Colleges (SUNY) Tuition Fees Compared To Other States
Does anyone have any information on how SUNY Schools tuition compare to other States Tution rates. I have heard that our in-state tution rates are much higher than what other states in-state tuition rates are for college students. Example: If you live in NC and go to a NC State college you would pay LESS than if you live in NY and attend a NY State College.

Tuition for the current year is $4,350 a year, with a $600 increase coming up. According to a recent NYT article, New York state tuition rates are below the average for public colleges. UNC is $3,750 a year. The University of California charges nearly $7K.
This doesn't include mandatory fees or room and board.

Penn State in-state is like 13k I think. Rutgers isn't much different. Its actually cheaper for people in PA to go to a SUNY for college I heard.

And as was mentioned, this would void the state resident v. non-resident requirements; end effect: tuition would have to rise, since schools wouldn't survive with only resident tuition...

How is this an incentive to better yourself ?
How about the "competition", for seats in those classrooms, with illegal aliens ? There is only so much room.
Another "surge" to other countries, for our own people's education...just like the 80's.

We're getting off topic here, but obviously (IMHO) this would be a step in the wrong direction.
Back to SUNY tuition
