Default Valley Stream Walmart Madness Kills Worker

I can't believe the story I just read about this horrible happening. 400 people rushing in, taking doors off hinges, running past where emergency workers were trying to save the employee's life from these maniacs who trampled him. As a visitor here in L.I. visiting family I am NOT surprised this happened at that store. I have never encoutered such rude, ignorant people as the shoppers there each time we have went there. Matter of fact we don't bother going to that particular store anymore. Would be great if their store cameras are able to identify some of these non-humans who would do such a thing. As I said, I'm not surprised.

Savages are in abundance in the Valley Stream/ Rosedale area. A horrible & disgusting thing to happen with this idiotic Black Friday, opening before sunrise for idiots looking to save a buck .

This story just sickens me.

Thank God I left the mall madness mentality of Long Island for the quiet, less materialistic, less pretentious Vermont.

Christmas is not about stores and presents.

These greedy bastards need to hang their heads in shame for killing this poor man.

Agree completely Gypsy. I follow the VT. forums and I hope your new job is going great! Yes I detest malls also. You have escaped the madness by going to a beautiful, quiet place. I love the pictures I have seen of Vermont (plan on visiting one day). Also love Maine.

Well, I actually do not have a job right now (I had a temp job). I am looking again.

Yes, you can be less materialistic here but it's hard living.

Anyhow, back on topic, this is a sad, sad story!!

Unhappy The Captain Says---WTF!!!

Y'know, first off, I feel the utmost sympathy and sadness for that unfortunate worker...that person's family has lost a son or a daughter, husband or wife/mother, all because some mindless herd of materialistic idiot-a**holes decided that 'Elmo' or 'Madden' or a 39-inch LCD TV is absolutely essential to their continued existence...what a flock of mindless sheep!

Secondly, this just goes to illustrate how overly commercial and crass that the holiday season has become...I mean, there were Christmas ads bombarding us non-stop since the end of October...now, I can't lay claim to being a deeply spiritual person, but I do believe in God, and I do believe that Christmas should still have something (however small) to actually do with (wait for it) CHRIST!

But then, things have gotten so damned politically correct, that saying Merry Christmas out loud to some folks, is seen in the same light as, say, wearing an 'I Love Al-Qaeda' t-shirt...but I digress...this thread is about that poor unfortunate worker, and how he/she paid with their life so that a bunch of insensitive ding-dongs could go forth and pull hair, fistfight, namecall, and God knows what else, over 'stuff'!

NEWSFLASH--- it's 'stuff' you clueless morons...if you were to die tomorrow, YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU!!! Have we as a people, degenerated to the point where human life can mean nothing, but material possessions and keeping up with the Joneses are of greater importance? Apparently so, and I shake my head in sadness at the sheer stupid folly of it all

Excellent post; you said it all. And in a few weeks I'll be saying Merry Christmas to all.

Default Green Acres Shopping Center

I live in So. Calif. I moved here 32 years ago. Before that, I lived in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn and we used to always go to shop in Valley Stream. We used to go to a store at Green Acres called Alexander's. I know that store closed long ago, so I was wondering if the Wal Mart where the person was killed today is on the site where the Alexander's store was.

no it's not. The walmart is on the other side of green acres road, closer to the queens side. There is now a Target at the alexander's site.
