Any parks good to take small kids in Brightwaters Farms area of Bayshore?
Parks with playgrounds in them?

I know there's a little park/playground in the village of Brightwaters, on the west side of Windsor Avenue about midway between Montauk Highway (Rte 27a) and Sunrise Highway (Rte 27). I'm pretty sure there are swings and seesaws there. I don't THINK it's restricted to village residents, but don't know for sure because I only notice it when driving past (Windsor Ave is a handy cut-through between Montauk and Sunrise).
I'm not familiar with the areas north of Sunrise Hwy though. Maybe someone else can weigh in with that.
I would guess that your best bet for playgrounds would be the ones at local elementary schools, but if you're looking for someplace to go during school hours with a preschooler, those don't help. The one on Windor Ave is not a school one, by the way.

That's a good question, Nancy; I'm not sure. I haven't been there in ages, because I heard from numerous people that that park is a "hotbed" for ticks. We know two people from the area who used to take their dogs there and stopped because of the tick problem. A shame because as I recall from the early 1970s it was a pleasant place to walk. Supposedly if one keeps strictly to the clear paved areas and walkways it's okay, but why take a chance on Lyme Disease??
Doesn't Argyle Pond Park in Babylon Village have swings and such? That's not too far from Brightwaters. Of course with the water's edge right there, people have to be eternally vigilant with the little ones.

No playground at Gardiners, as Totally has stated there is one at Argyle park, just west of the Village of Babylon on Montauk Highway.

Also, in Bayshore right on the Great South Bay, there is a little park with some swings, near the marinas.

Wohseepee Park, it's just south of Sunrise on N Windsor. It's nice, relatively new and well maintained, and it's not restricted to residents.

Not sure if you're still in need of info in this subject but I happened to drive past the Gardiner Manor Park this weekend and they do indeed have a playground area there. I'd never noticed it before, but then again I never really looked! It's just to the right (west) of the parking lot. They have swings, jungle gym, etc etc.

Yes, Gardiner Park indeed has a playground. A pretty nice one too. Its on Montauk highway between Bay Shore and Babylon on the south side. It has walking paths too, which lead to the bay. And as prev. stated its dog friendly.
