Need advice about colleges. Education programs in LI. (Westbury, Stony Brook: daycare, private school)

I finally just achieved my Bachelor's in English (Lit. and Culture) here in Florida. I absolutely love children and I love teaching. I am very interested in teaching pre-k, kindergarten, no higher than 1st grade. Not sure if I'd like to work in a daycare setting or public/private school. Moving to LI in a few months and want to start my studies right away. What programs are out there in LI, what schools are the best for someone like me who is older and hasn't been in a school for a long time? I am 33 years old, it's been a long struggle to finally get my Bachelor's. I need a school that has a good financial aid program. Wondering what teachers or students might be out there that can give me some advice on some decent schools and programs. Tuition is a big issue with me as I don't want to be in tremendous debt.

Gain your in state eligibility and apply to one of the SUNY schools. I am pretty sure Stony Brook and Empire State offer education degrees.

Adelphi University
Queens College
or any other CUNY would be your best bet.

Not sure what their current rates are but I am pretty sure Adelphi is expensive.

Dowling in Oakdale will admit anyone ( I know because I went there for my MSEd) but it is Very Expensive

Adelphi has a great education program, but it is very expensive. It may even be more $ than Hofstra and St. John's.

If finances are an issue, apply to any SUNY school like Stonybrook or Farmingdale. Also CUNY Queens college is quite cheap. I am a teacher and a lot of the new teachers that are going for thier master's degree go to Queens due to finances.
