The north side and south side are owned by different people. The south side is trying to get a tenant to take over a large portion shopping center. King Kullen and Starbucks refused, and I haven't heard anything else about it. Honestly, I think Wal-Mart should try to build here instead of their planned East Patchogue location (Hospital Road and North Sunrise Service Road).

The north side is in much better shape now that Home Depot moved there. There are still vacancies, but it's not in danger of going under like the other side.

That's not Grand Union anymore and hasn't been for about 8 years (since GU went out of business). It's a Stop & Shop now.

All the stores went to the Deer Park-Tangers when it opened. It sucks b/c I liked the Nike and Nautica stores there. Great prices.

My address in Valley Stream got a 52/100. I think its pretty walkable since that's how I get places.

Babylon has always been great on foot, even when I lived there, a long long time ago .
There is at least one other downtown that's not a dump by the RR: Port Washington!

The closest supermarket to Babylon Village has always been on Rt 109, by the W. Babylon High School. It's been many different stores, right now it's a ShopRite.

Add Rockville Centre to the list. The RR area is not a dump.

Westbury 83 out of 100 very walkable!
That's one good thing about it here, there are sidewalks almost everywhere. Back when I lived up in the Glen Cove area that's one thing I always complained about, they hardly have any sidewalks there. Same thing goes for Suffolk. Even around Tanger in Riverhead there is a lack of sidewalks.

It's hardly because of Deer Park. That's just the final nail in the coffin.

It was really Riverhead Tanger that condemned Bellport, especially once they expanded that Tanger.

I'd somewhat add Sayville. It's not the best, but it's not like the other dumpy RR locations (Patchogue, Port Jeff, Riverhead, a lot of others).
